Presentation and discussion of original research, based on empirical data, gathered using state-of-the-art materials and methods.

Short communication
Describes a concise empirical study that provides whether particularly innovative insights, introduce new/improved methods or shows significant original developments to its very discipline
Maximum of 2000 words (excluding tables/figures and the according legends, also excluding the references)
Review paper
Contains significant review, synthetic and interpretative qualities, based on meta-data (and own empirical data to some extent) from peer-reviewed scientific sources. Contributes to ongoing discussions in the according forestry related discipline and offers new solutions/points of view.
Maximum of 8000 words (excluding tables/figures and the according legends, also excluding the references).
Scientific statement
Provides an opinion on current issues in forestry related disciplines or comments on previously published papers.
