Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

The file is available in Microsoft Word, RTF or ODF format.
Authors should take note of the NI editorial guidelines for manuscript design here and can download the current writing template (already with embedded font and all required format templates) (see left below).

Author Guidelines

The NI is published as both a print and online journal. By submitting a manuscript, you also give your consent for online publication. The languages of publication are German, English, and French.

All submitted texts undergo a double-blind peer review. They may be rejected or returned for revision based on the corresponding review.

Since 2023, the online edition is published simultaneously with the print edition (Gold Open Access).

The journal Namenkundliche Informationen (NI) is an open-access journal. All contributions are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) license and can be used freely under the terms of the license. Users are entitled to read, download, copy, share, print, search, link to, or use the full texts of the articles for other lawful purposes without prior permission from the editors or authors. This complies with the Open Access definition of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).

No exclusive transfer of exploitation rights (Copyright Transfer) to the journal takes place. By submitting their manuscripts, the authors agree to publication under the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license.

The journal charges a publication fee (Article Processing Charges) of 200 Euros per article if it is institutionally funded (by a university, DFG, FWF, SNF, or similar).

Copyright Notice

There is no exclusive transfer of exploitation rights (copyright transfer) to the journal. The authors agree to publication under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence upon submission of the manuscript.

Privacy Statement

As a rule, it is possible to use our website without providing personal data. Insofar as personal data (e.g. name, address or e-mail addresses) is collected on our pages, this is always done on a voluntary basis as far as possible. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent.

We would like to point out that data transmission on the Internet (e.g. communication by e-mail) can be subject to security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

The use of contact data published within the framework of the imprint obligation by third parties for the purpose of sending advertising and information not expressly requested is hereby expressly prohibited.

The operators of the pages explicitly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of the unsolicited sending of advertising information, for example via spam e-mails.
