The 'Konzert' for double chorus Machet die Tore weit, SWV Anh.8, published by Hans Joachim Moser in 1935 as a work by Schütz, has been transmitted in four manuscripts. Although Schütz is generally given as the composer, one source mentions the cantor of the Dresden Kreuzkirche and later archdeacon Samuel Rüling. Source studies and style analysis support an attribution to Rüling; however, it is possible that Schütz influenced the final version of the work by introducing various improvements or emendations.
