Ein Wolfenbütteler Tabulatur-Autograph von Heinrich Scheidemann

Abstract

A manuscript in the Herzog August Bibliothek, Wolfenbüttel (D-W), Cod. Guelf. 8. Noviss. 2º, written in a relatively modern form of German organ tablature, contains a transcription of a previously unknown cycle in three sections on the song Betrübet ist zu dieser Frist, by Heinrich Scheidemann. Apparently the tablature is also in his hand. The work is examined and reproduced in facsimile and in transcription.
